Industrial fire at Nu-Pro Limited, London Road, Stroud
The directors of Nu-Pro Limited deeply regret the disruption caused to local residents and businesses following the industrial fire
at its Griffin Mill premises in Thrupp on London Road near Stroud on the night of Wednesday the 9th of July 2014 at 20.20 BST.
Nu-Pro understands the concerns that local residents and businesses may have about the incident and would like to reassure
those affected that any residual ash/debris from the fire represents no threat to public health and has caused no lasting environmental
The company is working closely with Stroud District Council. The Council has sought to reassure local residents that there is no
danger from any ash deposits in or around their properties and to offer advice on its removal. In addition, the Environment Agency,
which has been closely monitoring the site since the incident occurred, has confirmed that there has been no significant environmental
While the cause of the fire is at this stage still unknown, Nu-Pro would like to point out that incidents of this kind are, fortunately, an
extremely rare occurrence and in fact this is the first major incident Nu-Pro has experienced since the business was established over
25 years’ ago.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated and Nu-Pro will continue to cooperate fully with all regulatory authorities to understand
why the incident occurred.

employees, contractors as well as local residents, businesses and the environment extremely seriously. It has robust and stringent
health and safety procedures and environmental policies in place and will be conducting an independent review.
Nu-Pro will continue to monitor the situation in the aftermath of this regrettable incident and will strive to keep the local community
